Through winter

In containers: move to a sheltered spot, wrap pots in fleece, water sparingly.

Cut spent flower stems back to 10 cm after the first hard frost. Mulch the crown with compost.

Lift and divide every 3 years in spring — the old centre dies out, the new outer pieces are vigorous.
