About
A quiet companion for small-space growers.
Patch & Pot is an independent gardening publisher built in Barrhead, East Renfrewshire by Grant Cameron Anthony. It started as a single question: “what should I be doing in my patch right now, wherever I happen to be?” — and grew into a region-aware companion app for hobby gardeners, balcony growers, kitchen-garden enthusiasts and cut-flower fans across 58 languages.
What Patch & Pot is
- A monthly seasonal calendar tuned to your latitude, climate and hemisphere — never the generic “northern temperate” copy you see elsewhere.
- A curated plant database covering edibles, cut flowers, herbs and ornamentals, with care notes, companion suggestions and region-aware sourcing tips.
- A pest & disease guide favouring organic-first methods (we’ll point you at chemical interventions only when nothing else will do the job).
- “My Garden” — keep multiple patches, compare them side-by-side, and share a single read-only link with friends or family.
- A wellbeing journal for noting harvests, moods and the small wins that make gardening worth it.
Our editorial process
The seasonal guidance, plant care notes and monthly planting calendars are AI-assisted but human-curated. Here’s exactly how that works:
- Each region’s monthly guidance is generated by Anthropic’s Claude Sonnet 4.5 using a tightly-scoped prompt that feeds it the location, hemisphere, latitude, the user’s stated plants, and the time of year.
- The output is cached per region per month — so every reader in the same region sees the same vetted text, not a fresh hallucination.
- Plant imagery is generated by Gemini Nano Banana (Google’s image model) at the moment a plant page is first viewed, then cached permanently.
- Affiliate links are added by hand, never auto-monetised. We do not use Skimlinks, Sovrn or any other content-rewriter tool. Every retailer that appears on a plant page has been chosen because it genuinely matches the plant’s category and the reader’s region.
- We surface a clear “AI-generated content disclaimer” on /terms — gardening guidance is informational, not professional horticultural advice. Always cross-check seed packets and your local growers.
Trust & compliance
- UK GDPR + ICO compliant. We collect as little data as possible — full notice at /privacy.
- Affiliate disclosure published verbatim at /terms#affiliates, including the full Amazon Associates statement. Every affiliate link is marked
sponsoredin the page source. - Not a coupon, voucher, cashback or incentive site. We’re a content-first editorial publisher — readers come for the seasonal guidance, sourcing recommendations are a service to them, not a bait-and-switch.
- No trademark bidding, no email spam. All traffic is organic — SEO, direct, and word-of-mouth shares.
- Refund-friendly. 14-day statutory cooling-off plus a 30-day no-questions-asked refund on any paid membership.

Our ethos
Mindful growing, in any space, anywhere in the world. We favour organic methods, peat-free compost, native or near-native pollinator plants where the climate allows, and quality over quantity. We don’t review or recommend products we wouldn’t use ourselves.
